The Doctrine of the Mean
'Zhong1 Yong1 Zhi1 Dao4' or 'the doctrine of the mean' tells us that when dealing with people or things, one should be impartial, consonant and eclectic. Literally it means 'go the middle way.'
Confucius also said, 'Going too far is as bad as not going far enough.'
It is the same principle. No matter what you do, it is very important to be considerate. Have it neither overdone, nor fallen short.
The pictures above show the samples (in reduced size) of Confucius's sayings about "the Doctrine of the Mean" in two different styles. The full package includes six different styles. They are designed to be printed on a copy paper of 8.5 x 11 inches so they are perfect for framing. You may also use them for your own design.
